The Faceless tears the face off of every other band in this genre, Legions of the Serpent is a prime example. This cd is so good because they are one of the only metal bands that don't bring the medieval stupid theme to their music

Crushing, groovy album. Much, much better than their "deathcore" (*shudder*) release, "Akeldama".
This album has a great sci-fi feel that I've never experienced in a death metal album before. Awesome lyrical and musical hooks are all over the place on this album. Well-placed, crushing (not super-slow, pointless) breakdowns, jazzy breakdowns and black metal bridges are all here providing variety.
Lyrically, I can't help but sing along. Great sci-fi storytelling in every song. The vocalist has a nice, deep growl and a good high-pitched scream as well.
My favorite songs are Coldly Calculated Design and Planetary Duality II although every song is great.

i think this album is better in alot of ways than Akeldama, it just doesnt have the "WOW this is soooo fresh" factor that akeldama did, cos when that album hit the shelves there was hardly anything like those breakdowns
