I never checked this, think it’s the fear stopping me...

The fear it’ll suck. Maybe it won’t.

Just jam it. It's not terrible. Just not as good as their other stuff. Some bad lyrics here and there, not big on the production for the most part, and a lot of it is pretty samey. It's worth a spin though, imo.

I will jam it, just keep forgetting. Guess there just wasn’t that sense of urgency despite how much I love TAOM.

just jammed for the first time in years. holds up but yeah some of the lyrics are trash and its certainly a bit less polished than taom

This shit right here rocks so fuckin hard. I get that some of the lyrics are nonsensical / weird but man the vocals are killer they do the dual approach so well. And the songs in general are just so catchy

album's cool but pales next to the three before it, especially AOM

Yeah, Always Open Mouth is deservedly a classic. I guess I’m one of the few who loves this one almost equally. I like the early albums too but they just don’t have quite the same magic to them

This is easily their most catchiest work. The album is just one big anthem of absurdity.

This album is so strange. I'll bump to 3.5 because this was originally just weighed down by disappointment and disinterest. It still bugs me that there are tiny moments of TAOM in this, because it makes that album feel even more like an anomaly than it did when it followed up Art Damage.

from what i remember , taom took ages and they spent a fair while fiddling with it whereas this one was created a lot more naturally and fluidly? might be bullshitting but it explains the change

Bumped to a 4.5 because it resonates better now than upon release. A misunderstood record, they changed stylistically between all albums but this was more drastic. It took some time to appreciate but still a very creative, unique, atmospheric, and actually catchy album. I always come back to it after all these years. TAOM is their masterpiece but this is maybe my second fave.

it does have its moments but i think lyrically it was catchy yes but also pretty cringey at parts
