The only lyricist turned poet's book of poetry I did check out was by Alexis from Daughters, before the Kristin Hayter accounts, and it wasn't good writing.

Geoff did just release a book actually called "Someone who isn't me". I was hoping to pick it up at a show he's at so hopefully he brings some copies. Not sure why he wouldnt.

First hearing of that. Looks like it drops in July. I don't know much about heroin or getting clean from it personally might not be relatable. As for lyricists writing novels, Justin Pearson's From the Graveyard of the Arousal Industry is pretty good.

widowslaugh123♧ I recently became active with two reviews and feel welcomed to continue posting. Ha yea Graveyard was the complete opposite of what I expected, being heavy into Locust, but seemed honest and true to the scope of the writing.

Yeah yeah there was no fluff or fat it was just like “this happened, which was pretty crazy and then after that this thing happened.” I liked it but I just wish Pearson delved a bit deeper into his own thoughts feelings and stuff. Still for a first book by a guy who isn’t a writer it’s pretty damn great

I wonder if it wasn't a second version of a book that was on his computer when he got robbed. The Locust touring van got broken into and all their computers got stolen around 07 I think it was. That was in Graveyard I think, but I was at their show that same night it happened. My guess is he had to start over and had a not so great attitude about redoing the whole thing.

Eh, "getting clean" as an idea can apply to a variety of situations. I don't see being addicted to heroin different from any addictive substances from a psychological standpoint. Obviously it's a really hard drug to break from in others ways but the relatable angle isn't what interests me anyway

I bought it, why not. I'm interested how it'll cover the roots of the hardcore genre into the more mainstream taste. I've always heard the shit labels pulled with their artists so I think the band's in general got more of a slide in that regard.

My experience working for major corporations is that they pull as much shit as they can get away with. I'm betting the music industry isn't any different.
