"weak vocals were hot cross's main drawback"
Do you mean quality of individual vocals or the combined vocals overall? Because I loved the vocal inter-play hot cross had.
|
| |
i just mean that billy werner's voice lacks power. he's all throat and no lungs. to quote mj he's squawky. even more with hot cross than with saetia imo.

Figured, yeah he definitely isn't the best. I always thought there was enough raw passion in his vox that eventually they would grow on me but they never did much. Still like Cryonics a lot though.

Cryonics is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Anyways, I agree, Risk Revival shows them being almost just as energetic as on Cryonics, but the vocals aren't quite as enjoyable.

yeah broken face is awesome. also the middle of requiescat with that riff. so good.

somewhat baffled that "Some Natures Catch No Plagues" and "Venus and Bacchus" were not mentioned in the review considering they are probably the more well known Saetia songs, esp. "Natures".

Venus and Bacchus is their best

"Some Natures Catch No Plagues" is probably my favorite, then "Venus nd Bacchus", then "The Burden of Reflecting" is pretty damn good. Still haven't listened to this whole thing, I like to listen to it piece by piece. It's one of those things that I kinda need to be in the mood for.

Why do all the best albums have the deadest threads?
