Hopefully you’re in the mood for it.

There’s no other record like it.

This is probably the worthiest contender for the #1 Diet Slint crown (which is about half of why I love it)

Definite similarities, especially Christmas Steps but there’s something underlying here that is completely its own thing.

this was cool no reason to rush a consensus though... "Ex-Cowboy" was a stand-out

don't see it dethroning 4 Satin as my Mogwai of choice

Easily the best Mogwai and a cornerstone of slowcore / post rock. None of their other material hits quite like this

yeah idk something about this has an X factor i havent heard on their other stuff (tho have admittedly only heard young team a few times and like maybe 15-25 listens total to assorted other songs)

I really like that iggy pop sample, it kinda ties the whole thing together

What an album! It takes 35 minutes to wait for some tension to build-up, but when it does in “Ex-Cowboy”, it makes my soul scream. However, slow parts in that track are remarkably reminiscent of East Hastings by GY!BE, which is not a bad thing at all, just sayin’.

Best title track of all time.

No context means no realisation of how much it punched back in the day.
