I love this man so much. Could jam him every second of the day and never get tired of it.

Coltrane is one of the greatest musicians of all time so I agree.

Yeah, dude was such a visionary. A true explorer of sound. He broke the universe open and wrought harmony into unfamiliar shapes.

I've savaged my 4.5s and JoCo is one artist earmarked for promotion(s), but I'm not sure it'd be this one. Solidly b tier (i.e. pretty darn awesome) for the great man tho

I went back on this or blue train for ages, but itβs this for me. Need to run through his late post 1963 stuff soon though

65-68 trane might be his peak, probably is
This and Blue Train are very competitive tho, as is Interstellar Space. That's my current top 3 from outside that legendary run

this is the one and calling it B-tier coltrane is just silly

perhaps
I mean there really isn't a b-tier as things stand, more of a "I'm not quite sure this is in my top 5 or whatever". That's the issue(?) with an almost neurotic need for cataloguing things in a set order, combined with such a vastly impressive and varied body of work
work in progress / these are mere notes to self most of the time

Still a contender for top 3 Coltrane I reckon, although this situation is a rather fluid one at the present time"
lol... admittedly I'd heard way less JoCo then, so I may not be talking out of my backside

If you'll indulge me in surgically rearranging the semantics here, I would call this A-tier, but not quite S-tier. No shame in that whatsoever, though - the S-tier is obviously reserved for a very tiny handful of personal favorites.
For the love of god, though, please stop calling him JoCo πππ
