Still enjoy this, but I feel like a lot of that is nostalgia. This suffered from a stupid level of overhyping on the internet in the years directly after it came out. The comments on the opening page are so emblematic of the kind of silly drivel that used to be discussed when we still had mxtabs/musicianforums, comparing whether thomas corn or flo mounier was a better drummer.

I enjoyed it a lot for what it was, but looking back we talked about a lot of irrelevant stuff. Lot of nostalgia looking back. Sometimes I forget how much harder it was to learn about and get albums at that time compared to now. Really makes me respect the lengths people used to go to in the pre-internet era with tape and CD trading and what not.
I did like that transition from a tab website meant that in the earlier years there was probably a bit more discussion of musicianship, as opposed to now where I think people we see a much better quality of writing, and better discussion of the context, intent, relevance, and meaning of albums. Overall we're probably better off now, though I wouldn't mind if reviews were a bit more critical of musicianship on average.
