Kamelot based their success on Roy's vocals, but in their defence, music and musicianship had always been stellar, at least since 1999. Their latest album was excellent, keeping the standards high again after their mediocre Poetry For The Poisoned.

Man I wish he'd just do some guest vocals sometime

@CaptainDooRight Agreed. But I'd miss songs like ''The Descent of Archangel'' .

@CalculatingInfinity Don't know, I believe Tommy has great voice and excellent mimicking abilities, but Khan

is the prototype, thus he will always be superior.

@Mythodea He's surely talking of Tommy as an overall singer, not for the Khan copy. Listen to Seventh Wonder for some awesome moments. Still prefer Khan, though, and always will.

@Cap: I would love for him to guest on an Anathema album, even though there are enough vocalists there, it would be interesting to hear a Roy/Vinny exchange

Tommy's a really good vocalist thats being forced to mimic Roy I feel. On Seventh Wonder he has a lot more freedom

Roy Khan in an Anathema song... That would be epic!

Roy Khan has been a guest on an Epica song, for whoever is interested. What's more, listen to his work with Conception, he is epic once more.

@CaptainDooRight We could easily turn this thread into people screaming lyrics to one another.

@Evo: Would be vocal heaven. Vinny, Roy, Danny, and Lee all in a 10 minute ethereal/haunting

atmospheric/prog rock masterpiece. Good God now I want that to happen.

they should let him take his own style here [2]

Youngblood might let him since most fans have accepted Tommy now

Yup, eager for a new Kamelot album and if Tommy's let loose it can only help.

Roy Khan's voice is impeccable, but the instrumentation doesn't always complement it. That being said, his part on that Avantasia song, Twisted Mind, is fantastic

@Mythodea: I'm basing that claim on Tommy's Seventh Wonder work, where he actually has freedom.

I'm really interested to hear Tommy in the next album.

In fact I'd like it if Kamelot did an album w/o guest artists for a change. I mean the last time they did that was Karma and that was over ten years ago.

I've seen both videos. Khan is a pro on the first one but I think he can't surpass the original or the one on The Expedition live album. The second one is decent.
