Yeah nice one Elio! Relatable too.
It was a really difficult one to get into for me. Has earned its five though, love it with a passion. I really love it when an album is interesting enough to dissect it. Super mega atmospheric, pretentious but with enough body and genuine fun noticeable in their performance. Plus great shape shift, for which they're known of course.

Yeh, I've been listening to Bergtatt and Kveldsangger for many years and always thought they were somewhat overrated, and then completely jumped on the Julius Caesar boat a few years ago. Seems like it's going to be a really fun discog to listen through.

What's your fave so far? Those the four you heard (including this) or did you hear any others?
|
| |
Hmm, well I heard Nattens Madrigal for the first time this week and that was pretty great, definitely my favorite of the BM trilogy. Julius Caesar is starting to worm its way into 4.5 territory at the same time so we'll see where it lands after hearing everything else.

I love that you guys are bumping this. One of the coolest and more original Ulver releases.

Agreed. An underappreciated entry in their beloved discog.
I get why it repels some though, it's quite high brow and conceptual. Totally works in my opinion obviously but it's an acquired taste.
