umm, well... that might apply to DUI but not Chaosphere and onward. It's too hard to put a genre on them and every goddamn meshuggah discussion always has a war on what genre they are.



I just call them rhythm/groove since that's their top priority.

No matter what you call it, Meshuggah has no contemporaries that aren't influenced by them.



Also, I strongly believe that Neurosis and Meshuggah are the most important/influential metal bands of the last twenty years.

Gojira. But Gojira uses less polyrythms, higher tuned guitars, and are (IMO) a little better.
