Best knot. But damn, WANYK is really giving it a run for its money. If anything, I’d say they’re tied for first.

The production here never bothered me, love how the snare pops tbh.

The production and vocals both make this totally unlistenable. It only works on Vermillion, and somewhat on Duality.

Also the songwriting is incredibly overrated.. Shitty attempts to include some more guitar chops and off time rhythms but comes off as very immature compared to what the band is actually good at. Even a remaster can’t save songs like opium, virus, welcome, etc. The lead guitar line in the blister exists is like nails on a chalkboard. And on and on and on.

The production thing is more important to this band than most since it’s the strongest thing about the S/T. That album sounds so powerful and high energy specifically because of the way it’s recorded and mixed.

Corey is the main issue here, voice is completely shot and it really does take away from the heavier moments here.

Still, I always will enjoy a few tracks off this: Blister Exists, Three Nil, Vermillion Pt. 1, Nameless, Pulse & Circle all rule.

Pulse is kind of embarrassing lyrically but no more than usual which I can overlook with these guys when they’re firing on cylinders since it’s all in good fun. That song actually would benefit from a rerecord of vocals, re-amping the guitars to add more gain and bite, and remixing/remastering.

A re-recording of this would be so bad. Corey's vocals now sound weak compared to how they sound on here.

Hearing people defend these vocals or this production is like a Zoolander moment for me. Blue Steel? Le Tigre? They’re all the same face

Yeah but he sounds better on here. Never thought the vocals here were bad and I really like high you can hear a pitch through the screams.

"Corey sounds great on the new one, Jeet..."

He sounds ok on the new one. But compared to this he just doesn't sound as intense. His performance on here blows everything these guys have released since then out of the water.
