Cons of Crimson I: Production, it's not really a problem at first but there are certain areas near the middle where things sound less cool than they could, or less heavy than they had potential to be. Lack of variation, not like you're thinking, but rather a certain attribute in certain areas where some riff sounds like filler to me, and the recurring themes recur either too often, not much but still, same kind of situation with Black Rose Immortal, except this is a lot better, and no one will agree but Dan's clean vocal lines are sooooo cheesy it's annoying

This is the only album I've ever encountered that's actually difficult to listen to. It's basically the idea of a 40 min. song: any other album, the main "idea" of a song ends when the song ends, and the next one is different. But with this, it's 40 minutes of continuous ideas with no real pauses.
Maybe I just need to hear it enough to memorize what's going on, idk.
