yeah I think pillars is my favorite on this but painting the other songs as just less than it seems like a misrepresentation because there’s a lot more worth listening to on here

“Guitar and Video Games” is the best song here

'Every Shining Time You Arrive' and 'The Shark's Own Private Fuck' also rip.

Lot of amazing songs here but I always thought this was a little bogged down by some comparatively weak tracks like 'Two Promises' and 'The Prophet'.

I think Diary will always be my favorite SDRE album.

Title track and every shining time make me feel some kind of way too agreed. Diary is their best but I think this is my favorite

Agreed on all points. Definitely one of my strongest 4.5s

There's this 90s rock podcast that's talked about SDRE (though not this album specifically) and one of the guys said Jeremy sounds like a wizard singing in a castle. I think that's strangely accurate

I prefer Diary but there isn’t a song on there that comes close to Pillars

I would say Seven and In Circles are on par with Pillars, or at least close.

pillars is their best song but im starting to think their best moment might be the "whooo who turned the light ouuut" section of 100 million

diary is incredible too and is more consistent but this hits their highest highs

Heard Pillars yesterday randomly on spotify and I've been listening to this non-stop ever since. Feel like I may have discovered a new favourite band

Pillars is amazing. Problem is that it opens the album and leads to nothing disappointing since it’s by far the best song on the album. Still not a bad album, but Pillars definitely outshines the rest.

maybe, but I'm feeling like all the other tracks might be big growers for me. I don't love any of them yet, but I like all of them enough that I keep listening this all the way through. They'll probs all have their day
