this album just feels too scatterbrained and a lot of the songs sound unfocused. too much LSD probably

i think this is their best after feels. then indian and campfire. i much prefer their older tribal, percussive sound

yeah. it's weird because i think the first two songs are perfect and the rest seems aimless

all that really matters is that feels is far better than anything else they've done or are likely to do

ehh that viewpoint is annoying and outdated everything theyve been doing for the past 10 years is gold

I've only got their last 5 LPs, do they have any other similar folky and less electronic stuff like this? This is slowly becoming one of my favourites of theirs.

dude, check out their breezeblock session that i posted a few comments above... umm they also have
this really good session they did at other music just search for a rar of it on google or find it
somewhere in this link:
http://collectedanimals.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1154
other music (found it): http://www.mediafire.com/?0q4v8yspggpdec7
breezeblock session: http://www.mediafire.com/?e8fjh0h7zvrfqao
check out spirit they've gone, spirit they've vanished immediately - it's their best album in my
opinion.. followed by here comes the indian and campfire songs which are also super early in their
discography and pretty much perfect (i would 5 campfire but i promised to only 5 two animal
collective albums). danse manatee is genius as well but it takes time to get into, so keep that in
mind.
super glad you're digging their earlier stuff because i was the same way for a while. i didn't enjoy
mpp too much but then i went back to strawberry jam and realized how awesome it was and just
backtracked from there. now they are my favorite/second favorite band, just way too much creativity
and incredible musicianship within their songs. merriweather is still my least favorite just due to
a few songs having a lot of repetition and redundancy/too many hooks but it still rules.
oh and the water curses and fall be kind EPs are also very strong, check them out as well

I love this album. I find the folksy side of the band really interesting.

Thanks a lot Ethixx. I haven't given their early albums a go so far but am eager to check out. I really do enjoy MPP and Strawberry Jam, the vocal hooks are too infectious for me.
This however is a completely different beast. Shows how well rounded they are to be fair.
