The guitar in Providence by gaslight is so damn sick. Probably one of my favorite daughters songs.

Sadler absolutely tore shit apart for this one. Daughters Spelled Wrong sounds fucking seasick, and the shrieking he gets it to pull on Cheers, Pricks.
Weird to think he's the one, of all people, in the band to be outspoken about not digging this record, considering

Yea that’s crazy he said that. I absolutely love the instrumentals here. I wonder if he was just over the grindy spastic stuff on here compared to their more brooding atmospheric approach they have going now.

Got the sense it was mainly burnout from the relentless touring they did for this record, and he got to feeling the sound palette they were working with was sort of limited and one note, which was ultimately why the self-titled took the production angle it did and he and Lex hated each for 5 years.
Which, like, fair, but damn he stuffed a lot of extraordinary ideas into 20 minutes on this thing.

This is all killer no filler. S/T seems like a good bridge between this and YWGWYW. I’m a sucker for the absurd riffing and drumming here though.

The LOVE IS A DISGUSTING THING section on here freaks me out more than anything off of YWGWYW.
