That's... sorta cool hey. Can't remember the bad shit honestly, last time I truly listened to them was like 5-6 years ago (shame, I know)

Counting the s/t and stopping at Goo, or not and stopping at Dirty? V important question
|
| |
Definitely the s/t ep. Stopping at goo.
I change my mind. Everything up to Murray Street > most things
|
| |
Ok phew, although I like this second take better
Sonic Nurse > Murray St, even though Murray has more interesting ideas
|
| |
I stopped at nurse because I have not heard it lol

sugar kane is the best song ever made agreed

Oh lol it's basically Murray St with lusher production and more chill jams, defs recommend
Sugar Kane is a nice pop song

Schizophrenia is a jam, I dig Stereo Sanctity and Hot Wire a fair amount too. A few of the tracks seem harder to get into, they have this habit of blowing up seemingly established flow by throwing in something unexpected. A few interesting ideas but less accessible perhaps.
Definitely worth peresevering with, will likely try Evol next and maybe revisit Daydream before trying anything else.

Ha yeah, Tuff Gnarl and Pacific Coast are a pretty acquired taste - but firm keepers! Evol is less choppy than this; more of a dark mood piece so maybe you'll dig that more (if you do, go back a step to Bad Moon too ;])

Don’t judge me, I don’t dislike any of this, there’s just a noticeable disparity between some of the tracks so far. This likely just needs more time to fully marinate.
Possibly random aside; just how much of an influence were these guys on Pavement? I’ve been listening to them so just interested (you appear to like both bands). Slanted/Crooked Rain have their quirks but appear more immediately loveable for whatever that’s worth.

Pavement were more influenced by the Fall but defs had a strong slice of SY in them (phoning in @Ghandhi) and yeah, defs think they're more immediate (and great!). SY were much more about experimenting with timbre&texture than compact songwriting, whereas I guess Pavement fall the other way

Yeah I get that sense so far, re Pavement having more compact song-writing tendencies.
Oh blimey, you’ve just reminded me The Fall exist and I should check, but that they also have 734 albums or something. Argh!

this is fire, best one-two punch opening combo I've heard in a very very long time

Yeah the opening duo here is pretty much the peak of music
