grind is fine, but it's not something I listen to on a daily basis

fripp it's true that the album is somewhat same'y, especially on the first listen and especially when it comes to song structures (vast majority is literally intro : verse 1 : pre-chorus : chorus 1 : verse 2 : chorus 2 : glitch jam), but the musical style itself is rather brilliant. i suggest listening to the album again, because the new ep doesn't even begin to compare to this.
if you decide to have another go you'll notice the songs are actually pretty varied. Try the following tracklist for a good variety/quality balance and see if you want more afterwards:
1. "HYPERPOWER" - a drums-driven aggressive intro
2. "The Good Soldier" - a relaxed hip-hop-esque ballad
3. "Vessel" - "Closer" if it were a glitch song
4. "Me, I'm Not" - a paranoid introspective song
5. "God Given" - time to dance
6. "The Greater Good" - slow & hypnotic, skip if impatient
7. "The Great Destroyer" - !!!
8. "In This Twilight" - a beautiful, pure, light ballad
9. "Zero-Sum" - a second ballad, but "heavy", non-melodic, save for a gospel-eque chorus
also what were you expecting a good rec from ars? he thinks "the warning" is the best song on this ffs (seriously though ars that joe meek rec was spot on and i'm very grateful for it)

i did this just because i've been listening to the fragile non stop and figured i'd listen to another album - though considering he thinks most of my recs aren't even good and thinks "i can do better", you have a point (though the feeling is quite mutual) (pls no emoji)
