Def has a few of Converges all time best's and brings the sludginess like no other

My fave Converge album. Not saying a whole lot since I’m not generally a converge fan, but this album is good. I’ve got a dusk in us hoodie around here somewhere.

honestly at this point if you claimed literally any of their albums was your favorite aside from Halo I don’t think you’d get much pushback.
I agree more with dedes tho, this is probably top 5 for me and there’s a bunch of songs that I would consider some of their best. Single Tear, I Can Tell You About Pain, Arkhipov Calm, Wildlife, Reptilian, Murk and Marrow, and Thousands of Miles Between Us are all fucking gold. Even the weaker tracks are still solid.

It's got a somber energy that I don't think Converge has captured quite on the same level off of most of their albums, aside from a few tracks i.e You Fail Me t/t and Pheonix in Flight. I love all their albums but none of them make me quite distinctly sad like this one sorta does.

Honestly I'm surprised by how clear this production is, and how groovy and accessible these songs seem. Thought this record was more all around heavier, but it has been a long while since I heard this lol
Really agreeing with Dedes too

If they drop a new album between now and then then I’m 100% there, but I don’t really have any interest in seeing them play the same set they’ve had for the last couple years with one or two different tracks.
Hope the album drops this summer and we get a proper tour later this year. Also not talking shit on any of the openers but that’s only because I’ve never heard of any of them. Idk nothing will ever beat that Thou-Uniform-Full of Hell-Converge lineup. They even had a Frail Body/Brutus opener not too long ago. Surprised to see them touring with relatively unknown bands

^ I can understand that feeling if you saw them many times, I saw them last summer for the first time and it was glorious, they annihilated the bar. I'd be happy to see them again, even if they play the same set.

Before Bloodmoon, I think this was the weakest drop since When Forever Comes Crashing, but still mostly sick. Iirc, Arkhipov Calm had some cheesy guitar work to it that I wasn't crazy about.
