If using Nostrum as a “climax” for the record was any indication of their writing interests going forward - I’d love to hear them dive more into harmony-based forms.

This record does feel a bit impenetrable at times, for sure…kind of exhausting without the same kind of gratifying arc like C33.

Although I do end up preferring this.

I also have never understood the maniacal Fandom for c33. It's a great album but honestly it's my least favorite of their albums, besides the debut

C33 is an album that's meant to be listened to from start to finish considering it all acts as one piece.

Unless I wanna jam the whole thing I don't revisit it too much

C33 is their most tame album. I get its supposed to be one piece but I prefer my meshuggah changing pace more

I’m so glad that they recorded this with more of a ‘live’ sound. That’s one of the reasons why I loved Nothing, because the drums sounded so punchy and natural set against the more mechanical guitar tones and rhythms. I hope they stick with it going forward (or if I’m honest, I’d much prefer another solo album by Fredrik Thordendal).

I wish I liked this album as much as most of you. It’s really well done, but I’d rather just listen to Catch Thirtythree.

I think that was their peak in their H.R Giger Metal transition.
