Always respected this thing's influence and importance but never realized just how damn enjoyable it is as a front-to-back listen until this week

Overrated imo. As is Nirvana in general — at least imo. That said, I love In Utero. Def their best album.

As far as the Seattle grunge scene goes, I far prefer AiC and Soundgarden (and Pearl Jam to a lesser extent.

A twitter user sent a comment to Anthony Fantano saying that pearl jam should be replaced with mudhoney for the big 4 of grunge the "Let's argue" segment.

Blows my mind that something like "Endless, Nameless" was on an album that sold diamond

I agree but a lot of kids probably bought this record for the first 6 songs or so and never got that far. It's like 20 minutes after Something In The Way right?

Even so
You ain't gonna find that on no 21 Pilots record!

"On a Plain" was a bit of a hit too, no? I've read that there's a 10-minute gap of silence between "Something in the Way" and "Endless, Nameless" but my dad's old CD copy doesn't have "Endless" at all, and on Spotify the silence is eliminated and "Endless" is a separate track in its own right.

Also the stretch from "Territorial Pissings" to "Stay Away" flows ridiculously well

Dude in black shirt and blonde hair headbanging 2:49 into the vid. He said he showed up after seeing the band’s flier for teen extras cos apparently a friend of his played the cello on Something in the Way. What makes it kinda crazier to think about is the fact that the video came out before Fear Factory’s first album too

Interesting revelation.

"Teen Spirit" is talked about way too much when it comes to this band, but there's just something about Nirvana that gets me. Maybe it's just how much emotion Cobain put into everything this band did. It's imperfect, but that's the point.
