@Green Baron

The lead singer of Seether said Daisy was one of his favourite albums. There's quite a few things on their

new album that are similar to shit off of Daisy.

I mean that backwards clip they play "the chariots will rage in the street" is directly from Revelations, and on the title track he's basically saying he wants god to flood the earth again like he did in the bible. It's been a while since I've listened and analyzed, but I know there's other similar things scattered throughout the record. Could just be coincidence, though. I always like there to be more to an album.

Yeah I mean I don't know Jesse personally or anything so you might very well be correct. It's definitely destructive, and I'm still trying to gather the true meaning of the "burning forest" motif.

"Noro" is easily the creepiest song they've ever made.

In a Jar is a total mindfuck. It seems like he realized believing in God is a narrow minded view on his personal reality ("we live

in a jar and think the lid's the sky") and there is an importance to being open minded instead of putting all of your eggs into an

invisible basket. Basically I think he is giving up on his belief/ relationship with God.

That's not how I perceived it. I think he's saying there is so much more out there than we could know: "we live in a jar and think the lid's the sky") ~ "the sun is just a hole, it's the light outside." Not that there's a right or wrong interpretation.

You can count on it! There will be end-of-world conspiracies, existential philosophizing. It might even make the evening news.

Very true! I definitely agree he feels like there is more out there than we could know, which is why he has an issue with

common religious beliefs The way he depicts things God supposedly created in 7 days (earth, sun, stars) seems almost

disappointing and inadequate.

"We live in a jar and think the lid's the sky."

"Stars are just a million little fireflies"

"The sun is just a hole; what is the light outside?"

This could easily just mean there is more to life that we can fathom. But when he says "Maybe I should rest, but on the

seventh day

I've created nothing and I'm wide awake.", and the backwards bible verse gives me serious negative religious undertones.

Just my opinion though, either way I'm bumping this to a 5.

I can see that point of view too, and well done with that 5.0. Yeah, he definitely seems to have a negative opinion of religion...it's just hard to determine to what extent, considering he does seem obsessed with the idea of it. Maybe he used to be very religious and feels betrayed by God for some reason, which is what I've always felt was behind both TDAG and Daisy.

I wanted to go back to the Jenna Fischer avatar but I can never figure out how to upload .gif's. I always have to get Jom to do it and I'm sick of bugging him with my changing avatars.
