Album Rating: 5.0
When I first arrived on this site in 2015 I rated Nevermind and In Utero as 4 out of 5s and had the opinion that maybe they didn't speak to me so much anymore and my 5's were more dominated by current favourites and stuff that I guess aligned to 'doofcore' (alt country/chamber pop/indie rock/folk etc)
Then after seeing people here like zak talking about them I did the strangest thing...I listened to them again. Especially the live performances, plus watching live footage of the band. This stuff hadn't aged and then you realise the visceral pleasure of 'Breed' or 'Radio Friendly' hadn't diminished on the studio recordings either.
So their importance has 100% fluctuated a bit with me in terms of my listening habits, I haven't always been an active defender of them, but revisiting them over the last five or six years with the context of having now listened to so much more music has only made me appreciate them all the more.
