I'm pretty nervous about brand new releasing a new album, I dunno if they can still live up to the quality of their previous releases. Daisy lyrically and maturity wise feels like a final album.

I could definitely see how this feels like the end of a career, but I'm sure they're capable of producing a worthy follow-up.

Whenever they come out with a new album we should all go over to the Tool thread and say 'hah!'.

I think whatever Brand New releases next will sound completely different than this.

Lol when have they ever made the same album twice? That's what would be expected. I don't care what style they go with as long

as they put their heart and passion into it. I remember Lackey said he still wants to go back to a half Deja half Devil n God style.

I still can't shake the feeling that their new album will end up being very acoustic-y. Think 'Brothers' from FOYD. I'd love that, tbh.

Yeah, I feel like it's going to be a pretty subdued album, with more songs like "Out of Range." The storm has passed.

So with the softer trajectory they seem to be taking, it's pretty much confirmed to be angrier than Daisy right?

Well they're not taking a softer trajectory, I just have a hunch.

Agreed on the surface they seem pretty depressing, but once you dig into the song, there is usually a greater uplifting

message. The song Daisy, for example was insanely depressing until I paid attention to what they were saying in the chorus.

Seriously good stuff.

Edit:

The last line in the chorus makes me bummed again, wtf

Does anyone else see this album as an incredible mindfuck at times? I have this insane theory that these songs are about the end of the world. I mean, 'In a Jar' for pete's sake.
