God damn id love to see these guys live

Watching the making of for this album was fuckin sad though, the band seems so disjointed and forceably secluded from each other when they write songs. No idea how that works for them or how they seem to be so solid live

demiurge just chugs so hard, devouring everything in it's path like acidic sludge [2]

@MeatSalad it's insane. but it works. Haake is like the fucking leader of the group and they never write together. I think I Am Colossus was the first they wrote as a full band in a while. maybe the only full band credit on the album? cba to check. not really surprising, though, since fuckin "I" was written like backwards or some shit and the C33 drums were 100% programmed, so they've never really been all that orthodox.

obzen is great but I think they let a bit of their complexity go. the mixing on this isn't as good but I like the structuring a lot more on this than on obzen

Obzen's inconsistent, but it's got some of my favorite tracks of theirs. Dancers to a Discordant System is unbelievable

This is definitely more solid in that sense yeah, I just feel like obzen had higher highs especially with bleed and dancers which makes it stand out in their discog

Jens was at his absolute best on obzen too

all true. the highs on this are almost as high tho imo, I am Colossus, Behind the Sun and Demiurge. plus this is more consistent than obzen imo...though I think someone may have already said that

re: demiurge

sped it up a bit out of curiosity one night. think it sounds pretty nice. whole massive ending riff part (3:13 in the sped up version) sounds interesting. heavy in a different way.

from 170 BPM to ~221 BPM, so it's like 30% faster.
