painkiller/defenders are obvs superior, if i listen to priest these days i gotta go full rock hard ride free... this album in context just sounds preliminary to me so the "limp" description is understandable... stained class may be a good middle ground though

I was never too big on 80s Priest. It always came off as too polished and streamlined compared to the band's 70s efforts, or even compared to the heavier, speedier Painkiller. British Steel in particular has always been really bland to me, despite being one of their most popular albums
