I mean I'm sure it could be different for everyone

Oh yeah, without a doubt.
Fires is the album I recommended to my friend as, coming to think of it, that probably is their most accessible.

He seemed to enjoy it.
He loves Mastodon so I basically told him if it wasn't for these guys then Mastodon probably wouldn't exist, haha.

I will say that I loved tsib and gttr immediately but astns wasn't as immediate for me. Started as a 4 I think, maybe even 3.5 but it steadily grew and is easily a top 10 all time album for me now

Haha nice.
I love introducing mastodon fans to these guys. Kelly's spots on mastodon albums is always a nice bridging tool

Took like 7 years for me to fully appreciate ASTNS, although the Tide has and always will be a Neurosis go to track for me.

Yeah I think from the hill was my immediate favorite but the whole thing is basically perfect start to finish, it's beautiful really

Was such a great feeling, nothing quite like a Neurosis binge man.

'Weird cos I fell in love with this one first listen, their most accessible record tbh.'
Same, but then I'd already heard ASTNS, ToG and TSIB and possibly others. I can't remember the exact order. Those 3 were definitely my introduction though, as I've had them on CD for a long time. I think eventually revisiting them triggered a more thorough Neurosis binge, thus taking care of the rest.

...this one was a slow burn, but man does it wiggle its way in.

This is the second case of ratings manipulation I've come across on this site. I wanted to rate this horribly boring album 1/5, but a white page pops up saying "No". I like early Neurosis, but this shit sucks and I'm being forced to rate it 2/5.

I’m* sorry you feel that
*reprimanded

Helluva record boys. I'm nowhere near the Neurosis fan that some of you guys are, but this one here I appreciated almost instantly, whereas the others took some time as Cotton mentioned above.
