"Start where? Guide me"

Ask four people and you'll get four different answers.

Prelude to the Tragedy is probably their most "accessible", but not exactly representative of their overall sound, which also goes for Disposal Of The Dead // Dharmata, so I wouldn't start with either of those. The Sanguinary Impetus is their most refined one imo, so maybe try that? Psalms, Chapters or Passages could also make for a good introduction, though.

I'd say just go in order tbh. Chrono is best for certain bands and DS is one of them to me.

Surprisingly enough, I've never jammed DS yet. I always hear their name tossed around though, so I'll give them a listen. I've got a long weekend, so I guess now's the best time \m/

Sure, if you have like three hours to burn, go the discog run route. Was under the impression they just wanted to check what all the hype is about. Tragedy wouldn't be a great starting point in that case. Still a sick album obv.

I'm definitely the type of person to go the discog run route, so I'll stick with that plan. I love hearing how bands evolve over time, especially when I'm unfamiliar with their output

Wasn't referring to you, Koris with the perfect Death ranking. Have fun jamming.

Jamming their first album now, and it's absolutely great. Love the way they merge bruality and technicality together, and throw that little bit of jazzy bass into the mix. Great start to the discog

I've never given "I" much love but that thing goes hard for 22 straight minutes. I will say, however, that it takes Meshuggah's habit of recycling a riff over and over to the extreme.

I'm mainly referring to the opening riff and the riff around 9 minutes in. They switch up but the riff selection itself leaves something to be desired (in my opinion) at times. It comes together towards the end though, like really well.

What’s wild to me is these GOATs still only have 600K listeners on Spotify. For comparison, Falling in Reverse has 8 million. Linkin Park has 55 million. I hate this world.

If too many people listen the centre of the earth will crumble away.
