I guess my reasoning is that Slayer relies on shock value more than the other bands, and that's something that wears off over time. Whereas to me, the other bands discuss more relevant and thought-provoking topics that will prove more timeless imo. Then again, I'm saying this as someone who prefers the more progressive forms of thrash to the punk/crossover stuff
