I have heard a few songs from Blake's new one. Its weird, yet interesting, so I am going to give it some time and see if it grows on me.
Strawberry bubblegum is the only song that kind of annoys me. I really dig Tunnel Vision, and Mirrors is pretty fun too. Most of the lryics are kind of on the eh side from what I have noticed.

sorry cyg :[
definitely, tunnel vision is prob my 2nd fav after mirrors. lyrics as a whole are eh but i don't really care except when they're awful (strawberry bubblegum is the only serious offender i'd say)

Pretty much agree with you on this album, toxin. Fascinating, and possibly a first?
I absolutely loved this the first week I heard it. After repeated listens though, I started to notice how repetitive the songs can be. Its still pretty damn catchy, which can almost make up for it at times.

hehe, maybe not on album as a whole but probably on the particulars of the album!
and yeah, it's the same for me. at first i thought JT deserved credit for not letting the pop environment (3-4 min songs) limit his music, but now i realized his insistence on making the songs long limited his music in a different way. let the groove get in is a great example of a long song that works well, but after the solo i'd prefer if spaceship coupe just ended.

Yea, there are so many areas that could either be cut down on, and/or added some new sections and more layers of instrumentation to keep the music from getting stale. There is nothing wrong with writing an 8 minute song, but the groove and vocals by themselves cant keep the song alive on some of these.

Agreed. I hope he's a little more picky with his editing/trimming, part 2 can be something really special if it is.
