That song would be really good if the instrumental wasn't so powerless yuck. Those claps and tambourins are also such annoying sound bits lol

Yeah, listened to MtM yesterday and there’s a lot of cringe on there.

Living things was a huge let down compared to this. This might be wank but at least their dicks weren’t limp.

Living Things wasn't awful, but it was far less cohesive a listen with a lot more stinkers

This album could have been better in a lot of ways, but at least they were trying to do SOMETHING. Living Things just gave me full blown AIDS

I think Living Things' biggest issue was that it tried to have its cake and eat it too. It tried to go back to pre-Thousand Suns styles of songwriting, while still using the electronic elements of A Thousand Suns. Which doesn't exactly work, clearly

I think it worked here and there. "Lost in the Echo" and "Burn It Down" are bangers, and I'm also fond of "I'll Be Gone" and "Castle of Glass" (possibly unpopular opinion there), but a lot of the rest of the tracklist sorta fades into the background

imo there’s two kind of rick rubin albums, ones where the band is completely tapped out and desperate or ones where the band is already hot and needs a cherry on top

i don’t think linkin park had many ideas left when they approached him

"redditors killed chester because they killed linkin park by saying “nu metal is bad” imagine thinking anything after meteora is listenable or has artistic merit" they literally have no bad albums

their weakest album - imo, the hunting party - the "return to rock" pivot felt oddly forced in spots - is still a 3.5 with multiple highlights, especially towards the end, i.e: Final Masquerade/A Line in the Sand

I think living things is one of the worst rock albums of the 2010s
