"Ryus I'm interested to know what is behind your rating"
this style of metal really just doesnt appeal to me at all. dont like the vocals at all, and i find the riffs pretty boring. if im listening to metal i much prefer something like bm/dm or something that's punk-influenced like metalcore. most of this kinda stuff just feels kinda limp and corny. this album in particular is probably one of the better ones in the genre, nothing too egregious about it but id never wanna listen to it. this is better than "painkiller" for sure lol

I understand
When you're used to bm and dm, this might feel a little over the top theatrical
But even if you don't like it that much, don't you agree that the quality of the music is quite good?

how does this even work, painkiller is much closer to extreme metal or metalcore (which you said you'd rather listen to) than this album...
|

i dont think its possible to decouple your subjective enjoyment of an album with the "quality" of it which is a pretty nebulous term. if i don't enjoy it that's all i really need to rate something. anything else would be lying to myself
