never actually read this review until now—I prefer Kirk's, but this line also baffles me: "Throughout Mezzanine, there's a consistently relaxed feel, with beats meandering along around a cool 80 beats per minute."



this is simultaneously the most anxious and most cathartic album I've probably ever heard. who's relaxed listening to this?



"and behind her a crescendo of sitar" ... sitar? uhhh, where?! is there some secret version of this album I've never heard?
