The atmosphere on JFAD is much more compelling to me and i found it to be more varied and catchy as anything here. As for the s/t, i like how varied its vibe is compared to the other slowdive albums and it really combines the shoegazey songs and the more pure dream pop songs well.



This just feels so much more lifeless to me in contrast. It's not really all that catchy and it doesn't have many melodies that were memorable to me. I mean the guitar textures are cool, but that alone can't save the album. And since it's all kinda the same vibe, it gets a bit tiresome for me.

Just For a Day feels way too hazy and dense for me, even for a shoegaze record, a bit feverish vibe almost. It's an interesting album, but way more reliant on context and state of mind for it to be enjoyable than Souvlaki. I really can't see JFAD being catchy apart from maybe Catch The Breeze.



This on the other side, personal emotions are more upfront which can make this really relatable, and there's an interesting way to showcase it through the use of the guitars (40 Days!!!) and the vocal melodies.
