Akerfeldt 18 when Orchid dropped which is more impressive to me. Even though this is the better album, Orchid is phenomenal from a musical point of view.

EDIT actually he was 21, was sure he was younger.

I've editted the comment and brushed up on it. He was 17 when he wrote forest of october, he was older when the album was recorded.

Still though, everyone that young probably wishes they could write a section as profound as the softer middle of The Twilight Is My Robe.

Protest the Hero's Kezia was written when they were in high school, I mean it's no Opeth but a damn impressive (and lyrically mature) album considering their age

Yes, the clean vocals are fine on here. But he became a better a singer.

If me implying that I also find you hilarious means I'm getting hurt then I guess you're hurt too?

and I only like Heritage, no other new Opeth.

"I'd take Bergtatt over Shadows of the Sun any day and night of the week."

Really? I never would have guessed.
and the vocals don't sound anything like Akerfeldt, thankfully.

I've only heard the first three albums and don't have particular interest in the rest. *shrug*

Dude ambient Ulver is a third rate Dead Can Dance. There is nothing remotely interesting about the music and the only reason it even has an audience is solely based on the reputation they built as a black metal band. In fact, that is the reasoning why many people like it, so they can say "omg this band used to be bm and now make this type of music, so kewl."

Haha brilliant.

Taking influence from an artist doesn't make them a "third-rate version"

Playing on a tribute album of that artist doesn't make them sound-alikes

You're a bitch

I suggest you change that and give Shadows of the Sun or Perdition City a try.

But that's just too confusing. Two completely different styles in one band? No one can live at that speed!

I'll probably give Perdition a run soon.
