I'm down with that and haven't even heard it yet. A new era is beckoning and I'm pretty excited about it. It's time to shake things up.

@Dewinged Jacob Bannon has just clarified in a podcast how the band views the project. Here's the cliffnotes as I understood him:
* Chelsea Wolfe, Ben Chisholm, and Steve Brodsky are now members of Converge
* Albums featuring the lineup of seven musicians will contain Bloodmoon in the title (so for example, Bloodmoon: I, with more albums likely to come)
* Albums featuring the original core members will not have Bloodmoon in the title
* Regardless if it's the core member branch or the seven musician branch of the band, the band is still Converge
You can check his comments here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akyllP0IziQ
At 17:30 and 38:50
Would sputnik view that as a separate band/page or as something that should be under Converge?

Left u a shout already, but yeah I'll add it as a Converge album tomorrow.
Thanks for the link!
Edit: nvmind, a good soul added it already.

Cool! I know I've been very pedantic... but Some Things In Life Are Important.
Looking forward to the review and album!

“Jake said in an interview recently that ideally he will just release Converge and Bloodmoon albums forever!”
I’m so down for Converge pulling a Rolling Stones and playing until they’re like 100 years old

They might become popular if they do that.

it's the year 2069 and Converge release their 30th studio album, long time band member Jacob Bannon tells Rolling Stone digital their new sound is based on the classic blue-based rock of the 70s and 80s. Furious debate is had on newly-popular music website Sputnikmusic.com, as users argue over how Converge's music should be categorised...
'RandyLion' - 'although the influences at play here are undoubtedly born from the classical music movement founded in the mid-late 20th century, I'd hesitate in calling it true classical as it also borrows from a myriad of other works.
'BunionStubbs' - 'this is absolutely post-hxc, I don't know what you guys are hearing. wtf is blues anyway?

If i am alive in 2069 that would be fucking nutters. I would 5 all converge at that point.

There's likely a statistically high possibility I'm not alive by that point.

I'll definitely be in the ditch by then.

I’ll be in my seventies.
By the way things are looking right now I don’t think I’ll be around for that either lol

I'll be in my 70s by then. I hope I'll still be somewhat like my current self because currently I want to have a Converge record blasted at the unsuspecting mourners at my funeral. Probably Axe to Fall. But hopefully it's quite a while left until I need to think that through more carefully

Is the new album considered a Converge album? Because if you look at Axe to Fall, it has 17 guest musicians, with only 5 of the 13 tracks being strictly members of Converge performing. So I’m led to assume this is a Converge LP with guests, but I’m still unaware of how they’re promoting it.

According to Jacob Bannon, Chelsea Wolfe, Ben Chisholm and Steve Brodsky are now members of the band. Albums featuring the seven musicians will have Bloodmoon in the title, albums featuring the original members only will not. So both Bloodmoon albums and non-Bloodmoon albums are Converge albums.

New album is a collection of incredibly awesome moments very very messily stitched together, hopefully my opinion will change with more listens
Those awesome moments are fucking crazy tho

"According to Jacob Bannon, Chelsea Wolfe, Ben Chisholm and Steve Brodsky are now members of the band."
It feels like he's just saying that. Idk why my brain can't process this as being true. Must be in denial. RIP Converge
