This album is an absolute milestone record, one of the few concept albums that actually works.

Never been a fan of crime movies, let alone crime albums. Besides, there is too much wankery involved.
But I do like the Pink Floyd style ballads, Through Her Eyes and The Spirit Carries On.

I might sound crazy, but this one of those albums, which gets too personal to be true. Just little trivia why this album (and especially "Home") holds that personal type for me(the weird stuff): a) I was born in what can be considered a middle-eastern country and had a big home, which i lived in with my sisters and my jewish family, b) After USSR collapse we had to sell all we had and move out to Russia, which for me was absolutely devastating, since i lost all of my friends/birthplace of childhood, and a big part of my life c) I am set to never to return to that place, since by the time i moved out i still had to serve in the army of the said middle-eastern country and they knew i moved out and automatically trialed me for desertion and not showing up for mandatory draft which myself was called upon d) I still want to visit that place i called Home, which is suicidal(local prisons are ultra-harsh and basically a death sentence), so the dreaming of that place is the only thing, that can put me close to the home i grew in e) My mothers name is Victoria f) Imagine hearing kinda similar take on such a spin from an obscure (metal) band named Dream Theater, which is ironic by itself. Oh the mysteries of life.
P.S.
MyHouse.wad on Russian translates to MyHouse.tohell

Yea, it's very personal for me as well
I don't think I ever told this story, but this album literally broke my ass. When it dropped in 2008 I went on a hike at night to jam it, and I wound up listening to it 3 times in a row in a secluded park while swinging on a swingset. It was a fantastic time. I wake up the next day and my ass cheeks are just destroyed. Pulled pork. Couldn't move for like 2 days.
Good times

You must be a time traveler’s ass then, since this album dropped in 1999, but still a nice one. Kinda similar to what happened to me, when i went on a nightly hike inside Mykonos island, which resulted in destruction of some expensive property while listening to Midnight Odyssey album and being heavily intoxicated by acid and some potent grass xD
