Why did they remaster one of the songs on here?

Because they didn't like the master I think. Will be a full remaster coming.

Though in direct comparison the instrument separation is better for sure

Haake must have been really proud of his hi-hat patterns because I feel like that comes through so much more on this remaster. Reminds me of listening to Meliora and feeling like the hi-hat took the lion's share of the drum mix at times.

If this really is their approach to remastering the entire album, I'm honestly interested. Ligature Marks did benefit from it after repeated listens.

Album rules.

Interested in the remaster as well, although I'm never the biggest fan of remasters since you get to know an album a certain way, and that is what it'll sound like in your mind's ear (...) always. Weird yet interesting to hear it another way all of a sudden.

Nice. Was it immediate love for you? Or did it take a while for you as well to unfold its brilliance fully?

so I'm a late bloomer with these guys Trif, and I'm hearing their entire discog all at once......it wasn't immediate but I was/am surprised that a lot of fans have this as bottom tier.....i think the first 8 songs are absolutely incredible and the remainder is great as well.....there's no nostalgia with these guys for me.....with that, i enjoy this, violent sleep, and koloss the most......everyone's beloved Nothing would be 4th for me followed by catch 33.....I do find 'I' a bit disjointed......their 90's output as a whole is bottom tier for me, i definitely enjoy what they've become over time

Oh yeah that's right! That's actually a very nice perspective to hear about, one where nostalgia doesn't play a role. I absolutely agree that quality-wise, they're not too far apart (craaaazy consistently superb discog), so it ends up being all about preference really.

Good pick, wonderful record, and very glad Koloss is in your top 3, it's my second fave. So incredibly groovy and organic and probably their catchiest record without sacrificing quality.

I've been listening to them for almost 2 decades and I agree with you mostly. This one isn't my favorite but I love koloss and violent sleep. Nothing is probably 3rd for me though.

I too agree with Titan except Catch 33 is up there. I love them all but Nothing isn’t in my top 3

Nah they've become better with age. The songs have gotten more interesting. More dynamic
