Why though? I got loads of fives and fours.
I think I should work through their discography. Maybe that'll give me a better feel of this one.

I've tried to get into it but still really can't see how you would rate their previous material over this

Agreed. And I say that as someone who started with their earliest material and went through the whole cycle of enjoying it, eventually falling out of love with it and then returning after ‘rediscovering’ the band through this one.

I actually don't see that much differences between this and grievances. reminds me somehow of SOADs Mezmerize/Hypnotize double release. Differences are in the details

Grievances is kinda self-hating and this one kinda has love for humanity (and post rock) but otherwise they're birds of a feather I guess

i swear grieveances was sitting at a 3.7/3.8 before this album, glad to see it's got a well-deserved bump
this is definitely in my decade top three for sure now, might even compete with carrie & lowell for number one
saw a yt comment today that said this had some desperate living vibes and I honestly feel that so hard

For a hot second there I thought you wrote "white" how black people do with "yt" then realized you meant the tube. I was boutta say, remember who you are boy.

Aren't you not gringo tho? Thought gringo was exclusively reserved for peeps on my side of the pond touring the latin countries.

Just did the Google and apparently it can mean Euros too, but not usually.

Yeah, I was about to say that honour belongs to another female fronted band with varied vox and jagged riffs.

You mean the ones who were named after a Roman politician?

Yeah...I regret that comment, I'll stick with Azusa...I don't like to mix genres in an absolute rank lol

'You mean the ones who were named after a Roman politician?'
I'm guessing they're named after/because of a Christian movement in the city of Azusa, California. Maybe not though, I just know of their religious background due to Extol.

I thought you were talking about Brutus. I have not heard Azusa.

Brutus are amazing Pika, but they did not release an album last year, it was 2017. Yeah Azusa, check the review here (it's a good one).
