Swear to god if they write anything close to Rapture this album is gonna blow ahrd.
They need to expand on the new song with an album full of heavy jams it will definitely be higher than a 2.7

I mean ya, everyone’s already said it. Production’s blah, lyric’s are 11-year old atheistcore, but leagues better than erase me so *gestures vaguely*
idk, they’re borrowing aesthetics from disambig which is fine but compositionally it’s still pretty weak…maybe they had to let spencer have his lil go and the rest of whatever this is’ll be a return to form

Love how everyone is bumping this thread and not the Erase Me one. That says it all really

Well ya I wanna bump a good oath album lol
|

New track sounds like a neutered version of Illuminator with a weak groove riff in the first half and not great production
Don’t wanna be too negative but I’m still very skeptical

Album was cheeks, guy.

I AM THE ANCHOR

The Anchor Song is their best song probably.
New song is pretty solid. I'm liking how raw it sounds.

even as a nonreligious person who went through a similar ideological shift, these new lyrics are garbage. they read more like rants from a YouTube skeptic community video circa 2011 than any kind of meaningful take on doubt or loss of faith.
like on Erase Me I kinda gave the lyrics a pass, cause it seemed like a raw nerve for Spencer and he probably had a lot of pent up anger and emotion.
now we're 5 years on and it's the same thing, except it feels less genuine.
