"Goddamn that song is heavy."

That song rules; maybe the best headbanger off of this record. The guitar tone is so sick.

Don't get me wrong I do really like Sempiternal but wish it had more of this vocal style instead of the gruff-singing-y screams

Same here. Oli's cleans were really good on that record considering it was his first attempt at it but yeah, this album's style is his bread & butter.

Evidently you believe that similarities in sound equal similarity in quality, when that's not necessarily true

I just think a lot of the ideas in Sempiternal never get fully fleshed out.

Get them both jammed again, dude. I quite regularly listen to their discog, with the exception of CYB and the EP.

TBH I only really bumped this to see what everyone thought of that cover by The Defiled.

CYB is just wall to wall noise, it's tiring to listen to. SS really solidified it for them, the choruses, the electronics, the one-liners. There is a Hell...built on that and improved. They went from there and we have an Oli who now sings, time is a strange thing.

I really enjoyed it. I would even say if it wasn't acoustic and a full-band effort it would easily match up to its original. But, then I think it's a little bias of me, because he's actually singing and you can enjoy the melodies better, whereas Oli just screams throughout.

A few changed lyrics irked me but that's minor details.
