Chuck was quite The Philosopher back then. I wish we could still see him alive In Human Form today

Seeing as how it's Death's best album, I'm inclined to agree. And the bass remark wasn't a snide dig at lack of low end. The bass guitar playing on this here album fucking rules

The original is fairly bassy, kinda like human but not to the same extent. The remaster (which is a completely different mix iirc) brings the overall sound closer to that of Symbolic and there's a bit of frequency masking in places but it's not too bad.

But since I'm not even sure which one I heard, I'd probably be fine with either. The thing is, I find remasters to be unnecessary like 90% of the time, but almost just as often, I'll listen to either version of the album without much complaint so whatever.

imo it's worth hearing as it has better separation than the original which translates better over speakers and whatnot but yeah I personally prefer the OG as it's easier on the ears and more crankable m/m/

I like the remaster. With good speakers it sounds so much more clear.

My one big problem with the remaster of both ITP and Human is that the bass seems ironically too high now. Honestly, if we could go with the original bass mix on ITP and give Human the same bass volume/mixing as ITP, that would be just fine imo
