My go-to dumb sports clip of the past year or so is when Marcus Smart and Kyle Lowry had a flop-off in the NBA playoffs, with Lowry throwing himself onto a table to sell it lol

Who wins: Mike Tomlin or Bill Belichick with a month of prep and planning?
Buck and Aikman on commentary, with a bottle of tequila at the ready.

on one hand... tomlin is like 20 years younger and most likely in better shape... but bb has nothing left to lose at this point in his life and seems like a dude who would bite ears off and maybe sneak some brass knuckles into the cage which has to be accounted for

It's going to be a trend for a while now and for a long line of reasons.
1. The fame when it comes to working in the trenches goes to the defensive side, especially EDGE rushers. Super-talented athletes would rather focus there and snag the bag.
2. Related to above, the money isn't there for OLinemen. Premium defensive players earn more.
3. In a pass-heavy NFL, OLinemen have an incredibly difficult and thankless job. A defense only needs to win a few possessions a game to turn the tide; an OLineman is expected to win every possession. Your name isn't called until you fuck up or you're a rare generational-level phenom a la Trent Williams.
4. Related to above, the de-emphasizing of the run game gives OLinemen fewer opportunities to bully the defense, which, for many OLinemen, is their favorite part of the job.
5. Poor player development at the high school and college level, in part because college systems are still different than what players will be integrated into once in the league.
6. In combination with all prior points, there has been a mass increase in defensive talent, with rushers being stronger and even faster. Lines are facing probably the most stacked murderer's row of beastmen in a long while, and offenses simply haven't caught up.
7. Defensive play in general is up, likely in response to years of pass-heavy offenses. I think it's fair to see/assume that D-coordinators have adapted. Now the O-coordinators have to respond.

Am I the only one quietly excited for this game lol, we might have an all-timer sicko game on our hands.
@AnimalForce welcome to Sput's premier NFL thread! We have cookies.

I'm not even a big NFL guy (I will take cookies though). I just find it utterly hilarious that this album was so bad that Sput collectively agreed to talk about NFL here instead
