Hater may be a strong word but I just don't really like the vocals too much on their earlier albums, I dig the debut tho

I prefer the way he sounds on the debut to like Brother Sister tho lol, he's much more aggressive on it

Aggressive like he's eating an angst pie and trying to cough down the mic while his digestive system is killing itself, ye

I didn't like Weiss for the longest time, but he really does grow on you. Catch For Us the Foxes has been on rotation in my car for a couple days now. Sweet album.

"I wonder how many people actually stopped listening to Science Fiction after news broke. I still spin that record weekly. Not even joking."

I stopped listening to Brand New entirely, it ruined the whole experience for me.

Aaron's vocals are an acquired taste, but yes, they're pretty rough on the debut

It wasn't entirely intentional, but I don't think I've listened to brand new since news broke. One thing that WAS intentional was trading in the Sci Fi vinyl I pre-ordered without listening to it. Even the guy at the record store was like, 'Values on these have dropped a lot or I'd give you back what you probably paid for it.' Was glad to just have it taken off my hands, tbh.

Just kinda feel sick thinking about brand new.

What’s the easiest mwY album to get into if I like this one? Tried ‘Brother, Sister‘ a while back (with mixed results). I keep revisiting this and if anything I was underrating it (despite already liking it before) - would be nice to get into the band properly.

Probably go Pale Horses from here and then Catch For Us the Foxes, tbh. And that should set things up better to segue back into Brother, Sister

Also Ten Stories is their best

Yeah I second Pale Horses. This was the first MwY album i listened to and ended up also loving PH, sorta liking Ten Stories, and not liking anything further back

Pale Horses is a good rec. That one leading into this feels like a pretty distinct phase of the band. My two favorites personally.
