Just a quick question. I get that this is getting a lot of love from Sputnik and I concur that the instrumentals are performed FUCKING well, but is it just me, or are the vocals not so ace?

Grating to be specific.

The cleans are trash but the harsh vox are pretty nice.

Don't understand peoples gripe with the vocals, each to their own though.

some people dont like Tom Araya's vocals even though they have been on some of the greatest thrash albums ever. it really is each to their own

@Trve & Moose.

I kinda feel like his screams detract from the whole experience. One of those rare occasions where I just wish the vocals did not exist.

Meaning, if these guys were instrumental only, holy shit, would I love this band. Top of the top. Coz the riffs and drumming are just out of this world man.

The vocals don't match though. It's not like I can't handle some off the wall screeching. I listen to Agalloch, Altar of Plagues, Black Crown Initiate and Contortionist for fuck sake. LOL

It's because the vocals are the only thing here that isn't completely amazing (they're just good, maybe very good, they've actually grown on me over time).

People are just trying to find an excuse to pick on something. I've heard albums with way worse vocals and said shitty vocals don't get a quarter as much mention as here. It's silly.

@Portal. Hit the nail on the head. As you stated, when one thing is so top notch, other factors are more noticeable in comparison, if/when they don't match up.

I find the vocals delicously evil. They resemble Perseverance-era Schuldiner so it didn't take long for me to like them. In this album he sounds like Chuck beyond the grave, so I felt a little nostalgia. Also the guitar sound and F-tuning matches perfectly with the high pitch screams.

The chorus in the song Cosmic Cortex(4:33-4:50) is a great example where DiSantos delivery and the guitars are pitching perfectly, although it's not in Terminal Redux

Vocals are fine; enjoying them more than many thrash vocalists.
