This is better every time I hear it, album is insane. Very few albums get me pumped like this does & yet the songs are so interesting in the way they develop. Plus that atmosphere. Wow.

One could be super pedantic and say Symbolic is "prog metal with DM elements" but this deviated pretty radically from the norm in '09 too so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah I understand that Jac, I personally don’t draw the prog/DM line at Symbolic, perhaps it’s a personal thing, it definitely felt like a completely new genre to me at the time. I definitely draw the line at (old) Opeth for example, that’s very much prog.
