Bleak and drapery falls are the best songs here

Bleak and t/t are tied for my favs on here, Leper Affinity is close behind just for its last few minutes

Couldn't agree more that they're clearly the best here in that rough order too. Bleak edges it for me, slightly

Bleak is a lot more diverse and it has Akerfeldt singing plus Steven Wilson so its probably better

Yeah that dual chorus really makes it for me, but the growls on the t/t are best on the album for sure

T/T is probably his all time best growling performance and the riffs/leads/soloing are some of their best, not to mention all the amazing quiet parts in the first half

Anyone else laugh when I made out the "THIS. DOESN'T CONCERN ME" part?
ugh the riffs in the first third of the t/t are just so good, especially the acoustic part that leads into the heavy riff

"especially the acoustic part that leads into the heavy riff"
I still get goosebumps every time I hear it. glorious riff, and dynamics
|

t/t riffage is my favorite from Opeth, easily.

I just can't get over how perfectly symmetrical The Leper Affinity, Bleak, and The Drapery Falls are despite being so long and so full of completely different musical elements

Probably the best BWP review on this site, Bleak and t/t are album highlights despite the middle section of the album also being perfect.

I'm not sure how it happened, but Drapery is now my least favourite from this...

Choccy I thought you were a prog fan, but seriously Drapery is incredible and probably my 4th favorite on here. That intro and outro are album highlights for sure and one of the most unique musical passages they've ever written.

Whoaaaa, are you denying my inner progness now? Yeah, it's still a good song, but I agree with everyone who says it drags a bit in the middle
