I was feeling detective-y and decided to email them via their bandcamp's 'contact' feature this morning. If I hear anything back this thread will be first to know.

I've waited pretty long for albums before.

For example, I've waited ~10 years for another decent In Flames album.

I think so, though I can see where people would dislike it. I thought it was a very solid release when it did come out. It has a lot more melodic death metal involved, drops the electronics for the most part and focuses more on good songwriting.

Main issue is that some songs follow very set patterns, and it's relatively 'accessible' melo-death, with it's more chorus-oriented track structures. But I really think it still hits hard. Anders sounds pretty good here too in my opinion, where previously he was more background noise.

Hindsight probably contributes as well. Considering the albums after Come Clarity, it definitely makes that album seem much greater in comparison.

On the bright side, new album sounds like a 1.5/5.

So they've earned a .5 extra, possibly.

lol yeah band has been dead for a long time now. Will admit Come Clarity was good but it's practically the only good once since the melodeath days.

Pretty much, yeah. The rest of the albums past then are average at best and have very scattered moments of greatness.

In other news, I'm loving this metalcore/mathcore post-metal fusion music. Stuff like this and Eden Maine, Harlots, and a few others are really awesome.
