being one of the younger users here who hasn't been here very long, there is something kinda fascinating about being here. Reddit, 4chan, the like have been around for almost two decades now but have exploded and are basically synonymous with the mainstream now, which prevents the formation of any real community and gets kind of tiring. i feel like this site's sheer refusal to innovate is a draw in and of itself. plus i find you guys much more interesting to talk to

4chan is older than reddit and also became infamous before reddit became popular, but reddit is the only actually mainstream one
extremely different vibes though, 4chan is anonymous

> i've heard this same sentiment more than enough times to believe it's true. furries have a bizarre amount of money sometimes
for sure. im over halfway done with art school and i've dabbled in a LOT of freelance / indie art creation - hiring people for projects and doing commissions for others, etc. and about the ONLY time i was making any money was doing stuff for furries. they have money to spend and there are a lot of cool queer spaces there so it's really not a bad tree to bark up on at all. u just gotta be able to stomach the weird shit
>there are very very few things i miss about the older internet but the decentralisation and kind of privacy to some extent was one
i hear u. its a lot harder to find ur niche or places to like. go. we deserve some new fucked up multimedia platforms and more authentic ways to network with people

i've been on both for quite some time. 4chan has very active userbase and has the reputation of "scary hacker racist pedo site!!!" so it's mostly just filled with tryhards coming from Reddit or actual depressed losers. this site has like no reputation at all apart from "oh yeah sputnik? i was there for a bit. buncha elitist snobs n such" but even that knowledge is pretty limited

>Also Cord, regarding my review, thanks for the feedback

4chan's reputation has been attracting tryhards for ... ahem. who knows how long
theres a lot of boards that have nothing to do with hackers, racists or pedos, although there may be overlap in userbases
