Anyone else dig the 2011 remaster of this? I've seen some pretty mixed opinions elsewhere, but I personally like it better than the original.

I'm embarassed to admit I actually haven't had a chance to hear the original. Gonna order it off discogs sooner than later tho.

Returning to this and it’s better than before, the definition of a steady grower. Trapped in a Corner was holy crap levels of amazing.

Trapped in a Corner owns. The bass/guitar interplay in that song is so sick. That, Mentally Blind, and the title track are my favs off this one, but kinda hard to choose.

I really like how nonlinear some of the song structures are on this album compared to other Death records

Album Rating: 4.0
The song structures are certainly interesting, especially when compared to say Human, which follows the same standard pattern for the most part. Non-linearity isn't necessarily a strength & can cause haphazard song-writing & an overall lack of cohesion. I don't think that's the case here but it definitely took more getting 'into'.
Of all Death's records this one has improved the most over time & I'm bumping my rating.

This didn't really need to be remastered. The original is fine and that's all I need

You're Out of Touch if you think this didn't deserve to be remastered.
