This is still mids but somehow it sounds amazing when you're drunk

pretty much all rap sounds good when ur drunk tbh. it either slaps or you think its funny

tpab doesn't really flow well, but has a shit load of great songs

for this album its not like its all bad, but after listening to a track I never think back "damn that was a good song" but rather a series of decent, but disconnected, musical moments. and the rapping is just butt awful

Some of this is just a straight headache to listen to. Sonically and lyrically. Like I said, still a great album overall I bump from time to time, but compared to something like GKMC, I just don’t see how there could even be a comparasion. This is a fun listen when driving at night, while GKMC is like a dark and glorious West Coast hood movie that plays in my mind throughout it’s runtime, each song acting as a new, distinct chapter of the “movie”. Just sooo much vivid imagery lyrically and captivating beats & flows that just take me to a whole different head space

I disagree I think gkmc is suuper entry level and there are plenty of other albums and artists that achieve the same thing without having to fill much of the album with interludes and skits to directly tell a story which, to me, is very lazy. I'd much rather figure it out myself and try to understand what's happening and I can do that much better with this. This album is more captivating, more fun, more enjoyable, and Kanye has sooooooooo much more personality than Kendrick

Guess it just come down to preference my dude. The skits and hearing the characters interact with each other added A LOT to the enjoyability for me. Definitely agree that Kanye has more personality. Not always a good thing though lol. But yeah Kanye is one of my favorites

skits pretty much always deal a huge blow to an album's replayability, it's one of the reasons i just don't listen to Kendrick that much



this album was the most i enjoyed a Kanye album since Dark Twisted Fantasy. Yeezus always just kind of seemed like a joke to me and i still kind of roll my eyes when people act like it's his "greatest"

imo skits only work if they are tied in some way to music. artists who try to stick a shitty voicemail at the end of a song... i hate that shit

i despise it honestly. unless its right before a beat drop or something that like actually ties it in as like an abstract music element. but if its just tagged on at the end of a song, or even worse as its own interlude, its grating as all fuck 99% of the time
